Spring Sailing in Sydney

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We have been ‘enjoying’ a bit of crazy weather in Sydney lately – lots of strong winds but also some beautiful sunny days, perfect for  enjoying a bit of Champagne Sailing on Sydney Harbour! We have met lots of awesome guests already this season, enjoying catamaran charters onboard Seascape as well as a bit of adrenaline fuelled sailing on our yacht Cutting Loose on all these windy days! We offer a variety of catering options for our charters (including BYO  -with no fees to use our bbq and utensils). One of our most requested is the Seafood platter and we always get asked for the recipe for our marinated green prawns – soo good freshly bbq’d!! So here it is..

Green Prawns marinated in Coriander, Cumin & Lime

Ingredients:

24 peeled and deveined green prawns

1 bunch coriander

juice of 1 lime

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp paprika

1 clove garlic

1 tsp rock salt

20g olive oil

Method: Place all ingredients (excluding prawns) into food processor and process until smooth Marinate prawns for at least 1 hour, bbq for approx. 10 mins or until cooked, serve drizzled with lime and with crusty fresh bread & a chilled glass of wine! Enjoy ….

Spring is in the air!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Wow, what an amazing weekend!beautiful sydney weekend How lucky are we in Sydney to have a winters day of 28 degrees!! As a born and bred Northern English girl that is pretty special and just affirms what an amazing part of the world we are lucky to live and work in.

Sydney Harbour was at its most stunning this weekend, with some pretty amazing sunsets, turquoise water and a good breeze – really turning it on for our guests!!!

beautiful sydney weekend5jpg Back to reality this afternoon with a big thunderstorm and massive downpour but hey – we cant have it all!! Its starting to feel a lot like Spring is in the air and that means the start of another epic sailing season and FUN FUN FUN!!!

New for this season we have invested in some awesome ‘inflatable’ paddleboards from Adventure Paddleboards. Because they are inflatable they are super light and easy to paddle and nearly impossible to fall off!! (Although our skipper Tim did have a little dip yesterday – he blames his daughter ;)) We are hiring them out with charters this season for $50.00 for 2 paddleboards – a great way to add a bit more fun to your charter, and possibly some amusing memories!!

Love winter sailing -weekend news

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

In spite of the #coldsnap we are currently enjoying & the very rainy morning today!), whale breachingwe have been loving the #winter sailing on Sydney Harbour. There have been so many whales coming to say hello this year, we have only needed to pass slightly through Sydney Heads to get a glimpse of these incredible creatures. As we showed in our previous blog post we had the company of a whale for a couple of hours, so inquisitive about the boat and showing off for us!

fog harbour bridge 2A spectacular fog rolled over Sydney on Saturday morning, completely enveloping the Harbour  on Saturday morning making navigation rather difficult! The fog cleared to a beautiful day and another successful proposal for one of our clients.

The Moths were racing off Shark Island with Channel 7 crossing the line is second place in the first race of the day.moth racingAlways heaps to see on #sydneyharbour!

We saw Whales!

Had an incredible experience this weekend onboard our catamaran Seascape. we were lucky enough to find an incredibly curious whale who spent around 2 hours swimming around and under our boat, breeching and blowing less than a metre from us.

“To have a huge, friendly whale willingly approach your boat and look you straight in the eye is without doubt one of the most extraordinary experiences on the planet”. Mark Cawardine
